Profile Setup

 

Q-  How do I get signed up for my free profile on Sophosi.com?

A-  Getting signed up is easy and simple!  Go to www.sophosi.com, go to the signup box and give us your name, email address, user type (Admin, Teacher, or Coach) and create your password.  You then will receive a verification email with an activation link.  Once you click the link in the email, you will be asked for your teaching & admin credentials and coaching experience.  List all you have to list and from there, you will tell the site if you are currently “under contract”, if you are “willing to relocate”, and tell us what “account type” you want to be with the options being Full or Restricted.  We will explain those details a few lines down!  From there, your profile is set up and you will be redirected to your home page to begin interacting and connecting with your new teaching & coaching online community!

 

Q- What titles/roles fall under the user type of “admin”?
A- If you are a Superintendent, Head Principal, Assistant Principal, Athletic Director, Assistant AD, Hiring Coordinator, and any other Administrators that have hiring responsibilities, then you should select the user type Admin.  If you are a Head Coach but not the Athletic Director or Athletic Coordinator, then just say you are Coach user type.  But if you are the Head Coach and AD or AC, then select Admin to help you find coaches and teachers for future hires!

Q-  What does “Account Type” mean?
A-   This one is important!  If you tell the system you want to be a “Full” account, that means that you have “full” and complete access to all features and functionalities of the site.  You will be able to connect and interact with other teachers and coaches on the site, you can look for job posts by admin, and your profile could potentially be found in searches when admin search for coaches and teachers to fill a job position.  If you tell the system you want to be a “restricted” type of account, then you will still be able to connect and interact with other users on the site, but you will not be able to look through job posts and you will not be found in searches being done by Admin looking to fill jobs!

Q-   So teachers and coaches can connect with each other but Admin will not be connecting to coaches and teachers?
A-  Yes, coaches and teachers will only connect and interact with other coaches and teachers.  The only interaction that will be done with an Admin will be if you find a job post you are interested in or if the Admin finds your profile in a job search they performed!  

Q-  Is it Free to have a profile?
A-  Yes, it is completely free to have a user profile on Sophosi.com!  Just like many other online sites, we allow you to have a free profile and get full use out of the site! We will generate revenue later on down the road through businesses wanting to advertise with us and potential upgradable premium features for admin using and finding value in the Power Search for hiring needs  

 

Connecting & Interacting

Q-  Why use Sohosi.com?
A-  We are the first online community built from the ground up with teachers, coaches, and administrators in mind to allow them to connect and interact with other while being able to tell the system what their teaching credentials and certifications as well as any coaching experience they may have!  This site has been built specifically for educators and coaches to help in many areas in the education and coaching worlds but especially with the hiring & collaborating issues we hear about constantly.  

We’ve talked to thousands of teachers,coaches, and administrators, asked questions, listened, and used all their feedback to build what they said was needed!  By you telling the system what your teaching certifications are and what your coaching experience is, we can then take that data and allow admin to do targeted search for exactly what is needed.  Instead of spending valuable hours filtering through job post replies.  It allows for so much more efficiency.

So the more you tell the system about yourself, the more complete of a profile you will have and benefit more from the system and its features!

We encourage you to meet and collaborate with as many new teachers and coaches as possible!  We also encourage you to go create groups and start posting on those groups and start connecting to other teachers and coaches with similar interests and backgrounds

Q-  I already have another online social website profile. Why don’t I just use that?
A-  Remember that we ask for teaching certifications, grade levels teachable, states certified in, and any coaching experience you may have which other sites do not ask for.  And we have built the site to make educators and coaches feel at home!  We found a lot of you do use other social online sites, but do not use those sites as much as you would like because they were built with the “C-level executive” or for “everyone” instead of being built for the education and coaching worlds specifically!  And the few that told us they do use those sites often told us they admitted that those sites provided no value from a hiring point of view for Admin other than helping prove you are real!  

Q-  Can I have a profile if I am not a teacher or certified to teach?  

A-  Yes!  If you are not a teacher or not certified to teach, you can still create a free profile and connect and meet new people on the site!  Just label yourself as a “coach”, and tell the system you not certified in any subjects for any grade levels in any state.  


Keep in mind that private schools do not need their coaches to be certified teach since private school coaches will only be coaching with no teaching responsibilities.  Private school teachers do have to be certified, but the coaches do not need any certifications.  So anyone with sports expertise and that may want to coach in the future, can create a profile and start building a network in the coaching world for if the time comes when that user decided they would like to coach, then they will be able to be found by private school admin searching for coaches or the user can even search in job posts for private school coaching jobs posted in their areas! 

 

The Admin User Type

Q-  So what is the difference between a teacher/coach user and an Admin user?
A-  There are several differences.  Admin users can not connect to coaches and teachers and vice versa.  So teachers and coaches will not be able to message admin or interact with them in anyway except through job posts and admin doing a job search.  A teacher or coach will have the ability to reply to job posts and reply to messages sent to them about potential jobs that found them in a search.  

Q-  I already have another online social website profile. Why don’t I just use that?

A-  Admin spend countless hours filtering through job post replies which those hours could be spent on other important issues helping push the academic or athletic programs forward!  Having this system that has collected the teaching credentials and coaching experiences allows admin to do a targeted search for the exact credentials and experiences they need and puts potential hires in front of the administrators in seconds!  That’s a GAME CHANGER!

Q-  Is it Free to have a profile?
A-  Yes, it is completely to have a user profile on Sophosi.com!  Just like other online sites, we allow you to have a free profile and plan to generate revenue later on down the road through businesses wanting to advertise with us and potential upgradable premium features for admin using and finding value in the “Power Search” for hiring needs!  

Q-  What is the “Power Search” for Admin?
A-  The “Power Search” is the search feature which only admin users have access to.  It allows the admin to do a targeted search for certified teachers, certified coaches, and non-certified coaches (for private schools) and avoid having to deal with the work that comes with doing job posts and reviewing the replies.  You find what you need in a matter of seconds or minutes!  But we still allow you to do job posts to stay compliant.  But a targeted search is what we were told is needed and wanted by over several hundred Admin including Head Principals, Athletic Directors, SuperIntendents, Assistant Principals, and hiring coordinators across Texas and a few out of state.  

 

Miscellaneous

Q-  This sounds too good to be true. Why hasn’t anyone done this before?
A-   Frankly, we can’t believe it either!  But there is a time and a place for everything!  And the last 15-20 years have showed us that social online communities can positively impact industries and people all over!  It’s time we have an online community for the education and coaching world!!  

There were supposed to be hoverboards and flying cars by now, but to no avail. We saw an area of need, and went full speed ahead into fixing it and providing a solution.  Which is Sophosi.com!
